[edit] What content is allowed ?
Firstly, WikiPNG has been designed to be a source and focus of all information for Papua New Guinea that would be of interest to a business investor or traveller. So, by definition, some commercial links and 3rd party links will be allowed. Bear in mind though that using this site to simply promote your business is not helping anyone, and not in the spirit of the website. If you add a knowledge article and your business naturally links from that site, then by all means include it ALONG WITH OTHER LINKS WHO ALSO FIT, regardless of whether they are competitors of yours. This will ensure unbiased coverage for your article. Selectively supporting your own commercial interest is not allowed. People who blatantly try to use this wiki to promote their own self interests will have their account and IP banned from further use.
[edit] Adding to an existing page
On the left navigation menu, you'll see a search bar. Simply type a subject, place or other identifying name and click go. If a page exists for this subject you will be presented with the article. Most, if not, all parts of the page should have a small [edit] tag to the top left of each section. Clicking edit, will take you to the page where you can edit the page text. You must be a registered user (It's free) to edit a page. You'll find the login button at the top right every page.
You can type text straight into the text box and when you're happy, click save. Your changes will be instantly visible to other visitors to the site. You can also use special 'code' to change the text formatting of the text you submit. Many HTML and CSS tags are also permitted.
[edit] Creating a new page
If the subject you searched for does not exist, you will be taken to a page inviting you to begin one. The process is the same as editing an existing block of text as described in the previous paragraph.
[edit] Adding images
You can brighten up the look of a page or article by adding an image (Or video, or audio) to it. In the 'toolbox' menu on the left of the page, click 'Upload file'. You can upload your image here taking note of the filename you decide to call it when you upload it. To add this to a page simply add this 'code' to your text block ...
